Examination for Japanese University for international Students

EJU is the examination that evaluates the Japanese and basic academic skills of the foreign student who expects to enter the university in Japan. Since 2002, many universities and vocational schools have accepted the applications of international students mainly based upon EJU scores.

  • The test in Japanese as a foreign language consists of writing, listening comprehension, listening and reading comprehension.
  • In the science field, examinees have to decide on two subjects from physics, chemistry and biology depending on the course they pursue.
  • In the mathematics field, depending on the course of study they want to pursue, examinees have to select either course 1 or course 2.
  • Depending on the course of study they want to pursue, examinees have to select either “Japan and the world” or “Science”.

Scholarship will be given to the student with excellent test results EUJ.



Japanese Language Proficiency Test


The aim of this examination is measurement of the Japanese language skill (academic Japanese) which consists of 4 levels.
The examination is 1 time per year (December). The test consists of three sections: writing and vocabulary, listening comprehension, reading comprehension and grammar.


The standard of each level is as follows:

Level 1 consists of 3 sections:

Mathematics 180 min. 0--400

Condition of passing level1: Total mark should be 280 or more points (70% of the whole).

This level can be obtained after studying Japanese for about 900 hours. Our school has more than 800 hours classes in one year. Therefore, if you prepare and review in addition to the lesson of our school, you will be able to reach Level 1 in a year.

Scholarship will be given to the student with excellent test results for JLPT.
